Roman Gold & Silver Ring

with an engraved signet of the Emperor Antoninus Pius (fl.138 - 161 AD), shown bearded and wreathed, with his Empress, Faustina the Elder, with her distinctive scalloped coiffure and wearing a fillet. The solid gold signet is set in a silver wide-shouldered ring setting. The signet is set raised above the ring shank.
