Pair of Hellenistic Bactrian Gold Hoop Earrings
with lapis ball drops inlaid with white marble centers. Hollow tapering ribbed askos-shaped hoops retain their original earwires wrapped closed at the sides; These have been wrapped with modern 22 karat gold earwires for wear. The colorful contrast of the deep blue lapis and their original white marble inlays against the gold hoops illustrates the rich goldsmithing and lapidary techniques of the culture. (hung on modern 21-k gold earwires)
